GRANNY SMITH Apple tree (pollinator)

- You need 2 trees, a red and green or yellow apple tree, as they pollinate each other
- Small trees: 3,5mx80cm
- Early producing (will bear in 2 years)
PLEASE NOTE: These are high chillers, meaning they require cold winters and high altitudes, like the highveld, Freestate, and higher lying areas of KZN and Western Cape. Not suitable for any coastal or subtropical areas.
PLANTING:
- At least 6hrs of sun a day.
- Well drained soil.
- Use good compost or potting soil.
- Leave 10-15cm of rootstock above ground.
- If planting in containers: minimum 50 litre size, with good drainage.
- Wet root ball and soil well when planting.
WATERING:
- Summer: depending on rainfall, once or twice a week.
- Winter: once every 2 weeks.
- They do not want to sit in wet roots, so good drainage is important.
Couriered trees only leave on a Monday to avoid them sitting in a depot over the weekend, so delivery will be 3-4 days from the 1st Monday after ordering.
